Care Services in your home
The Kennedy Leigh Home Care Service is designed to give members of the Jewish community the support they need to live independently in their own homes.
The service has an excellent reputation, with high ratings from inspectors and very satisfied clients. It complies with all statutory regulations concerning home care provision and all staff are trained by Jewish Care.
What we offer
Home care assistants carry out a variety of tasks in a client's home, according to the individual care plan they have agreed with the client. They understand the cultural requirements of visiting a Jewish home, and know that every home is different.
These are the kind of tasks you can expect a home care assistant to carry out, if covered in the client's care plan:
Personal Care
Bathing, hair washing, strip washing, dressing and undressing, shaving, denture care, changing pads, catheter care, help with using the toilet, making and changing of beds.
To keep clients as active as possible, assistants will encourage and help clients to carry out various activities at home.
Shopping
We provide essential shopping services only and can collect pension and benefits of up to £300.
Food preparation
Home care assistants will prepare a snack or meal and clean equipment and kitchens after use.
Medication
Home care assistants will only prompt medication from a Dossett Box or bubble pack that has been issued by an allocated professional.
Housework
We will only carry out light hygiene cleaning which includes: changing beds, wiping surfaces in kitchen and bathroom, vacuuming and dusting main living areas. Please note accommodation has to be in a reasonable condition before service starts and proper equipment/materials need to be available. Cleaning is only carried out when the client is present.
Pesach Cleaning
Special Pesach cleaning can be arranged with the homecare manager, subject to staff availability.
Respite
This service allows the carer of a family member to have a break (to attend an appointment or meet friends, for instance). Our staff will come to your home and ensure that your loved one is cared for while you are away. The service can be offered through the day and overnight if need be.
