Ella & Ridley Jacobs House – Hendon
Offering personal, dementia and respite care
Located in the heart of Hendon, Ella & Ridley Jacobs House has been a Jewish Care home for more than 30 years.
As one of Jewish Care’s most religious homes, it is known for its heimische atmosphere. The home benefits from close ties with the local Jewish community. Synagogue services, which are held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, are very popular with residents and non-residents alike.
As well as its own synagogue, the home has two lounges, (one that supports people with greater needs), a reminiscence room, a hairdressing area and a pretty garden. The kitchen is fully supervised and licensed by the home’s own shomer (religious supervisor).

Social programme and activities
Art and crafts, quizzes, flower arranging and bingo are just some of the activities residents can enjoy in this lively home. Music-based activities are very popular too, with residents enjoying sing-along and music sessions as well as visits from musicians and entertainers.Festivals are a real focal point in the home: they are enthusiastically celebrated, ensuring a traditional Jewish warm, family feel.
There are two active fundraising committees for the home –
Friends of Ella & Ridley and the ACE committee – both of which arrange many fundraising events and activities in the home.

This home is close to local shops in Brent Street, Golders Green and Brent Cross Shopping Centre. Hendon Library is just a few minutes’ walk away.
