family carers service

Family Carers’ Support

Family Carers Team provides support, information, practical advice and advocacy for those who are caring for a relative or friend.

The service now offers the following:

Regular telephone support
for those who cannot attend a group, or do not wish to. Provided by trained staff and volunteers.

Carers support groups
in various locations. A support group offers a safe and confidential environment to discuss your situation with others who understand. For programme information about the groups we offer, please contact Jewish Care Direct on 020 8922 2222.

The Maurice Lawson Dementia Support Service is incorporated into the Family Carers Team providing individual & group support to carers of people with all forms of dementia (call 202 8922 2222)

Specialist support for those caring for someone with a mental illness
, through groups now running in Golders Green and Redbridge.

We are updated regularly on carers' issues by National Carers organisations, and will, on a regular basis, pass this information on to you through mail shots.

Social activities take place from time to time due to the generous sponsorship of the wider community.

This provides carers with a well-earned break and a chance to meet others in a similar situation in an informal setting.

Support for families of those with an addictive disorderlooks at how addiction affects family members. This support can be provided either in group settings or on a one-to-one basis.

Support and advice around residential care
from our Family Carers Team members through individual support or in a group setting and also in conjuntion with relative groups within our homes.
