Forget-me-knot committee raises 15,000 pounds

Date:  9 October 2007

'A Night at the Dogs' raises £15,000 for people with dementia

People with dementia will benefit from £15,000 raised by the Forget-me-Knot committee which arranged ‘A Night at the Dogs.’ Its outing to Walthamstow Dog Stadium was attended by 160 people. Funds were boosted by a raffle with prizes such as X-Factor final tickets.

The money will go to Jewish Care’s Sam Beckman Centre in Hendon, which offers special day care to people with dementia. The cause is close to the heart of committee chair Mandy Fisher, whose father Lawrence Fisher, had Alzheimer’s disease.
