Young Jewish Care's Phoenix committee held a sushi and champagne evening at the Purdy Hicks Gallery in Southwark, at which £1500 was raised. Attended by 100 people, the evening was part of a new initiative to attract people aged 35 and upwards to fundraising events at interesting venues.
Ben Morrison, assistant director of fundraising, said the proceeds would go towards mental health services at Jewish Care's centres for wellbeing.
The event was organised by committee members Kim Blackman, Dani Tinero and Katy Barron, curator of the Purdy Hicks Gallery)
