Over 60 people enjoyed a HOPE (Homes, Outings, Programme, Entertainment) outing to the Olympic village in Stratford, taking in all the history about the Olympic park and surrounding area, followed by a visit to H.Forman and Son Smoked Salmon Factory.

Elizabeth Israel learns the art of salmon slicing

On arrival members were treated to a smoked salmon bagel lunch, followed by a demonstration on the art of smoked salmon slicing. The group put their new-found knowledge to the test by attempting to slice some smoked salmon themselves.

Elizabeth Israel commented: “This trip was hugely successful and it was fantastic to see how smoked salmon is made and to learn the art of cutting it. This HOPE event sold out very quickly and February’s tour is already sold out. It just goes to show how many smoked salmon lovers there are!”
