Sheltered accommodation in Southend
Above the Southend & Westcliff Community Centre is Shebson Lodge, a block of 16 flats that offer older Jewish people a chance to live independently but with the provision of 24-hour support if they need it.
Of the 16 flats, 14 have a beautiful view over the Thames estuary. Most have one bedroom and all of them are a substantial size with plenty of storage, bathroom and kitchen.
During the day, the day centre senior carer is on call for all residents in Shebson Lodge. At night a warden sleeps in the premises, so residents can feel safe in the knowledge that someone is there should they need help. At weekends responsibility is shared between a call centre and a night warden on site.
Residents are welcome to take part in a range of activities at the Community Centre located directly under the flats if they desire - a great way to remain active and make friends.
Rent for the flats is around £600 per month and there are vacancies from time to time. If you or someone you know might like to rent one of the flats in Shebson Lodge, please email the manager.
