 Offering mental health care for people aged 50+

Situated in North West London, Sidney Corob is a registered care home for Jewish adults with moderate to severe mental health issues.

What we offer
Specialist care package: For those with high care needs, we can provide full personal care, domestic support (including laundry and ironing), support with medication and escorts for appointments and outings.

Support package: For those who have been finding it difficult to cope in the community, we can provide a safe but unobtrusive environment where they can develop or maintain their daily living skills and independence, with the option of support on hand if it is needed.
 
Rehabilitative care package: This is for people who have experienced recent difficulties and need time to stabilise and regain their confidence and skills before returning to the community.

What to expect: Care

•      Qualified and trained staff on duty 24 hours a day
•      Each resident is allocated a personal Keyworker
•      Expert advice sought on behalf of our residents from local
       consultant psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, GPs and
       medical agencies

What to expect: Amenities

•      All residents have their own bedroom and bathroom
•      Communal areas include two lounges, a dining room and a garden
•      Modern kitchen with full-time cooks and domestics who provide
       three hot kosher meals a day


What to expect: Day-to-day

•      Range of therapeutic activities such as art therapy, developing
       cooking skills, current affairs, growing our own vegetables and
       fitness training
•      All residents have their own front door key and are welcome to
       come and go as they please, as long as their safety is not
       compromised
•      Shabbat and the Jewish festivals are well celebrated with the help 
       of Brondesbury Synagogue and the local Jewish community,
       including visiting rabbis and children from the local Jewish school


Links with local community
We support people to build links with the community such as local colleges, libraries, swimming pools, hair dressers, local shops and cafes.  Several people belong to other Jewish Care resources such as The Martin B Cohen Centre for Well-being and others have joined City Lit, Jami, Thrive, and The Outsiders Club.


Future Options
Residents may chose to retire here in the knowledge that they are safely supported, or they may chose to engage in our rehabilitation opportunities with a view to moving into independent living accommodation.
