Jewish Care

Caring for a relative or friend can be both physically and mentally demanding and can sometimes lead to isolation and loneliness. Our Family Carers' Service provides much-needed support and information for anyone who is caring for a relative or friend.

We have a team of nine staff members and nine volunteers who provide various methods of support to family carers. They include:

• Telephone, written and face-to-face support for all carers
• Support for families affected by someone’s addictive behaviour
• Support for carers of people with all forms of dementia
• Support for those caring for someone with mental health issues
• Support and advice with regard to physical disabilities, cancer and terminal illness
• Support and advice on residential care

Each member of our team has specialist knowledge of a group of illnesses and disabilities, so can provide carers with information on coping with the illness, as well as advising on which services are available to help.

Our Family Carers' Service gives carers the opportunity to focus on themselves, forge friendships with each other and share experiences.
