Jewish Care

Jewish Care has developed a range of flexible services that enable carers to take much-needed time off from caring for a relative.

These services give carers the confidence to take a break, knowing that the person they care for is safe and secure in a culturally sensitive environment.

What we offer
We can offer home care or a day or half-day at one of our day or special day care centres so you can visit friends, go out for lunch, see a show or simply have a well-earned rest. You deserve a break, so give yourself a treat once in a while.

Who can use the service?
You or your relative does not have to be a user of Jewish Care’s services to use FlexiBreak, but the person you care for may already be attending a day centre or special day care centre.

The FlexiBreak service is in addition to other services your relative may already use. It cannot be used regularly (ie. every week) and will depend on availability, but you are welcome to use this service to take an occasional break or attend a special family occasion, for example.

Deciding on the best service to use
The person you care for will be assessed so we can give them the most appropriate type of care while you take some time to yourself. The person who makes the assessment will help you choose what type of break will best suit your needs.

How to book a FlexiBreak
For further information on how to book a break, contact Jewish Care Direct on 020 8922 2222.
Please give as much notice as possible of your requirements (at least 10 days) so the care you need can be arranged.

How much does the service cost?
A small charge for the service may be made. Charges are discretionary and made according to an individual’s circumstances. In some areas, we receive funding for this service from the local authority and can facilitate the break a little more quickly.
