What our homes offer

Residents in all our homes benefit from a genuine Jewish way of caring. We maintain traditions and respect the culture and history of all those who live with us.

Health and personal care
Every resident has their own care plan, which is regularly reviewed and updated. Residents and their relatives are encouraged to participate in this process.

Homes that provide nursing care have nurses on site at all times, whilst homes providing personal care work with the district nurses to provide specific nursing care as required.

GPs visit all our homes regularly and we arrange visits for opticians, dentists and chiropodists. Hairdressers and manicurists also visit and residents can make appointments at additional cost.

Shabbat and festivals
We pride ourselves on the Jewish atmosphere in our homes and the strong links they maintain with their local Jewish communities. We celebrate Shabbat and all Jewish festivals and observe Jewish traditions and culture in everyday life.

Catering
We observe Kashrut in all homes, overseen by Jewish Care’s Shomer (religious supervisor). Residents enjoy three main meals as well as drinks and snacks throughout the day. We ensure menus offer choice and variety and have a distinct Jewish ‘flavour’. We cater for special diets, to meet individual needs and preference.

Activities

We offer a varied programme of interesting and stimulating activities and outings, adapted to accommodate special needs. Volunteers contribute enormously to the social and cultural programme.

Activities typically include art and crafts, discussions and quizzes, musical entertainment, outings to places of interest and barbeques and garden parties in the summer.

Personal possessions and visitors
Residents are welcome to bring personal belongings and small items of furniture. Towels, pillows, blankets and bed linen are provided and washed by our laundry service. Visitors are welcome at any time and can arrange to join residents for meals, at a charge.

Inspections and safety
All our homes are regulated and inspected by the Commission of Social Care Inspections (CSCI). You can read a report of the latest inspection in each of our homes. All our homes are staffed to provide 24 hour care and are equipped with safety and security features including smoke detectors and 24 hour call systems.
