We offer a home-care service sensitive and understanding of the needs of the Jewish Community.
Our home-care staff understand the cultural needs of visiting a Jewish home. They understand every home is different and we ensure that our clients take the lead on advising us on how, when and where they require support.
These are the kind of tasks you can expect a Home Care Assistant to carry out, if covered in the client's care plan:
Bathing, hair washing, strip washing, dressing and undressing, shaving, denture care, changing pads, catheter care, help with using the toilet, making and changing of beds.
To keep clients as active as possible, assistants will encourage and help clients to carry out various activities at home.
We provide essential shopping services only and can collect pension and benefits of up to £300.
Care assistants will prepare a snack or meal and clean equipment and kitchens after use.
Home care assistants will only prompt medication from a Dossett Box or bubble pack that has been issued by an allocated professional.
We will only carry out light hygiene cleaning which includes: changing beds, wiping surfaces in kitchen and bathroom, vacuuming and dusting main living areas. Please note accommodation has to be in a reasonable condition before service starts and proper equipment/materials need to be available. Cleaning is only carried out when the client is present.
Special Pesach cleaning can be arranged with the homecare manager, subject to staff availability.
If you would like refer someone you know or care for to our Home Care Service, please contact our helpline, Jewish Care Direct, on 020 8922 2222 in the first instance.
