Jewish Care

Supporting the South London Jewish Community is jointly undertaken by Nightingale and Jewish Care. Nightingale is the only provider of residential care in South London, but those living in the community may have other health and social care needs which Jewish Care may be able to support them with.

Community Development - this part of our work is supported by our  community development worker who links with all Jewish community groups south of the river and working with them to develop welfare and support services locally. The community development worker links all the synagogue and welfare groups through regular meetings and workshops and looks at the needs for initiatives that will support the community whether this be around accessing kosher food or the need for specific day care.

Support and Advice - the support and advice worker for South London acts as an advocate for the community to enable them to access culturally appropriate health and social care services. Working closely with local authorities, the support and advice worker acts as an ambassador for the Jewish community ensuring that all statutory and voluntary agencies understand the unique needs of the community.
