A Director since July 2018, Gaby’s remit covers the Care Homes, Retirement Living and Home Care, and Hospitality. As well as contributing to the development of new homes and campuses.
Born in Israel, Gaby moved to London in 1983 after completing her nursing studies in Tel-Aviv. Gaby undertook her first role in social care in 1998 as the Registered Manager of Osmond House, one of the Otto Schiff Housing Association’s (OSHA) homes which provided care to refugees and survivors of the Holocaust who were living with dementia. Gaby developed a passion for improving dementia care and for promoting equalities for older people and those living with dementia.
Before joining Jewish Care, Gaby achieved a business degree and masters in social sciences research from the South Bank University. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the London School of Economics which focused on disability employment and how to improve health practices through research. Gaby joined Jewish Care when it merged with OSHA in 1990.
Gaby has two grown up daughters and two grandchildren who calls her Grangie (Granny G). Gaby is quadrilingual and enjoys ‘almost anything’. Her main hobby is dancing Jive and Argentinian Tango. In recent years Gaby explored oversees train journeys which she hopes to resume as soon as travel restrictions allow.
