Andrew joined Jewish Care in 2011 as Director of Finance and is a qualified chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
He has responsibility for both the organisation’s finance and information technology strategies as well as the respective policies, planning, and delivery of the two functions. His duties focus on all aspects of the business’s finances including the organisation’s financial planning, financial oversight of major projects, business modelling for service development and IT infrastructure development. Andrew also acts as the Company Secretary for the organisation.
Prior to joining Jewish Care, Andrew had a varied career path, starting out as a scientist gaining a PhD in Molecular Biology from Bristol University. He then moved on to become a chartered accountant with PwC, specialising in the investment fund sector. Spending five years in the hedge fund world in Bermuda, he finally ending up in the not for profit sector back in the UK.
He is married to Lorna, has three young girls and a boy and enjoys spending most of his free time working with the 130 plus kids in his local scout group as he is their Group Scout leader!
