Andrew joined Jewish Care in 2011 as Director of Finance and is a qualified chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Prior to joining Jewish Care, Andrew started out as a scientist gaining a PhD in Molecular Biology from Bristol University. He then moved on to become a chartered accountant, undertaking his training with PwC and specialising in the investment fund sector. After spending five years in the hedge fund industry in Bermuda, in 2006 he began working for the UK not-for-profit sector.
Andrew has responsibility for Jewish Care’s finances, information technology, facilities management, compliance, internal audit and business development. He oversees the development of key strategies as well as the setting of policies, planning, and delivery of all functions under his oversight. His duties focus on all aspects of the business’s finances including the organisation’s financial planning, financial oversight of major projects, business modelling for service development, IT infrastructure development and the introduction of digital technologies. He is also responsible for the facilities management across the whole of Jewish Care’s estate (which incorporates statutory compliance).
He is married to Lorna, has three daughters and a son and enjoys spending most of his free time working with the 150 plus youth members in his local Scout group as he is their Group Scout leader!
