Sobellers is a lively social evening held monthly at the Michael Sobell Jewish Community Centre for single people aged 60+. As part of the programme we offer guests a social programme which may include music, a quiz or simply the chance to meet new people. Skills for these roles include enthusiastic, sociable and have a good awareness of customer service. Committee members will have to attend monthly meetings and attend and play an active role in the Sobellers monthly events.
Role 1: Entertainment Booker:
Duties will include, research potential entertainers or activities for the monthly events and to feedback this information to the Committee in their monthly meetings. To attend and play an active role in the running of Sobellers’ monthly events and to be a table host during the event and to facilitate conversation and connections between members.
Role 2: Marketing:
Duties include to distribute flyers, and posters for Sobellers’ monthly events and identify community group, synagogues etc. where there maybe be members interested in these events
Role 3: Hosting:
To attend our monthly events and take a lead in welcoming attendees and making introductions between clients where appropriate. To act as a table host during supper keeping conversation going and to help to serve supper. Additionally, to make follow-up phone calls to clients who have not attended and to feedback information to the committee where appropriate.
