Lay Leadership Development Programme

The Lay Leadership Development Programme (LLDP) was created to engage with future leaders of Jewish Care. The project aims to educate and inspire young adult professionals to become actively involved in the life of Jewish Care. The year- long programme is a mixture of learning, mentoring and hands on involvement. You will learn about the organisation, our services and people. You’ll meet some of the clients we support and hear from senior leaders in the organisation. As well as having a great time.
The LLDP comprises a combination of briefings with Jewish Care’s key leadership and senior personnel. One Sunday a month you will visit various Jewish Care care homes around London and the South-East getting a hands-on volunteering experience and meet staff and residents. You will also hear from social workers and Jewish Care staff to get a better understanding about their day-to-day roles and how Jewish Care operates and supports the community.
Anthony Renton, Chair LLDP Social Committee
“There are many reasons why you should volunteer and especially with Jewish Care.
When volunteering you really feel like you’re part of the Jewish Care family and that you’re giving back to the community. The work Jewish Care do is truly incredible and if you can give up your time to volunteer, you will gain a lot personally, forge new friendships and feel like you’re making a real difference. The LLDP is a truly unique programme and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The opportunity to meet and engage with our lay leaders and to hear first-hand how they got involved in community life is an amazing opportunity.
Being able to hear from the incredible Jewish Care staff who go above and beyond their jobs everyday in order to support the most vulnerable is incredibly inspiring. Most importantly, to meet the residents of the different homes with other like-minded people who also want to give back to our community, has made me even more motivated to be involved.”
