Lag B'Omer 2020
Lag B’Omer begins at sunset on Monday 11th May until sunset on Tuesday 23rd May 2020.
This is the thirty third and only day during the Omer where people are allowed to have celebrations as the Omer is a semi-mourning period.
Traditionally, bonfires, bows and arrows, BBQ’s, picnics and carob cake are reflections of ways to celebrate. This year will bring new challenges as people are social distancing. However, using imagination, upcycling and recycling, why not create an indoor garden along a corridor with pictures from magazines or artwork. Any pictures of Israel, flags and Jewish music will add to the atmosphere. As the carob tree, is symbolic on this day, if you research it, you will see that it is also used as a healthy chocolate substitute!
