Succot at Clore Manor28 Oct 2019
Year 4 children, accompanied by teachers and parents from Etz Chaim School, sang Succot songs, chatted and enjoyed snacks in the Succah with residents to celebrate the festival at Clore Manor home.
JS teacher said, “The residents are all so open and friendly, and the children have found it easy to chat and find out more about them. It’s been a nice opportunity to come here to share some of our learning with the residents and celebrate Succot together.”
Mandy Myers, one parent who came along, said, “I remember going to visit my grandma at festivals in a care home and it’s nice to see the joy on the residents' faces when the youngsters are singing. I think it brings good memories back of the songs from their childhood.”
Etz Chaim pupil, Dalya, said, “I enjoyed speaking to the residents and hearing what they had to say,” and Ruby added, “It’s fabulous to come here!”
