#GoPurple for Jewish Care

09 Jun 2020

In these challenging times, we all need a little bit of fun so Jewish Care is inviting the whole community to go purple for a week to show support for Jewish Care between 14-21 June.

The charity are challenging supporters to create some mauve masterpieces and get in touch with their inner purple by doing some arts and crafts and painting a purple picture, eating purple food, icing and baking lilac cakes. Some of the community like the Flaum family have already dressed themselves or their pets in purple others are listening to Deep Purple, planning a purple manicure, pedicure and makeover and for those feeling bold, dyeing their hair purple.

Adam Overlander-Kaye, Jewish Care’s Director of Fundraising & Community Engagement says, “It doesn’t matter how you join in with Go Purple, the main thing is to have fun and support Jewish Care’s amazing staff who are looking after older people in our care homes and in the community. So, enjoy going purple and encourage your friends and family to join in too.”

Anyone of any age can get involved and share photos and stories on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #GoPurple. You can tag a friend to nominate and pass on the challenge. People have been updating their Facebook profile pictures with Jewish Care’s Go Purple frame and you can text GOPURPLE to 70085 to donate £5 to Jewish Care. Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message.

There’s also a list of purple items to purchase on Amazon Smile if you need some inspiring purple accessories. Just log in to Amazon Smile and donate to Jewish Care whilst you spend.
