Greetings and cheesecake on Shavuot14 May 2021
Marion Carr, Irene Lederman and Malcolm Marks are amongst the residents at Jewish Care enjoying letters and cheesecake from Ernst & Young (EY) employees this Shavuot. EY staff sent kind thoughts and generously made a donation to Jewish Care for Shavuot teas and celebrations across the organisation’s residential care homes where residents are celebrating the festival of Shavuot, which was very much enjoyed and appreciated by all.
Partner at EY, Mark Persoff wrote to residents: “We are delighted for EY to partner with Jewish Care to bring goodness to you all this Shavuot.”
Meanwhile, Jewish Care volunteers delivered cheesecake and gift packages to hundreds of members of Jewish Care community centres for Shavuot and volunteer hosts of Jewish Care’s Supportive Communities Tea parties, baked and delivered delicious cheesecake for Shavuot to tea party guests who are older people living in the community, currently meeting regularly on Zoom.
Sixty young people also baked delicious cheesecake with Project Impact to send to frontline staff at Jewish Care who were so appreciative.
Rachel Miller, Jewish Care's Community Engagement Manager said, “Jewish Care is so grateful for the generous support and kind letters from EY this Shavuot helping to spread sweetness to our care home residents and also to our volunteers who are delivering Shavuot packages to our community centre members and baking for Supportive Communities Tea Parties members. We’d also like to thank the young people at Project Impact for baking cheesecake for Jewish Care frontline workers and showing them how much they are appreciated.”
