Jewish Care’s CEO, Daniel Carmel-Brown has commented on the recent Government announcement to reform social care:“The social care sector has long awaited an announcement on plans for the long-term funding of care in the UK. The plans announced by the Prime Minister on Tuesday go a long way to addressing many of the challenges faced by the sector which have been acutely exacerbated by the pandemic.
With much of the detail to be revealed when the white paper is published, Jewish Care is yet to fully understand what the impact of these plans will be, and we will need to go through these plans carefully to understand what this will mean for the cost of care in 2023 whilst maintaining our continued commitment to supporting older and vulnerable people when they need us most. This will only work with greater collaboration and integration between health and social care services and the recognition of the dependency between the two as partners.” You can read the Government’s plans for health and social care here.
