Kun Mor and George Kiss receives ‘Good’ rating from CQC inspection

15 Dec 2021

Jewish Care is delighted to announce that Kun Mor and George Kiss care home, which was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last month has just received an overall ‘Good rating’, which included the home being rated ‘Good’ in every single area of its inspection. This includes the home being rated as ‘Good’ for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

As a result of the pandemic, all CQC inspections in England were unable to take place to prevent further risk of infection to those in care homes, this inspection was a milestone moment for the organisation, as it was Jewish Care’s first CQC in person inspection in more than 2 years. The home was selected as part of CQC’s validation process for homes that they consider to be ‘safe and a low risk’, which Kun Mor was strongly identified as being.

In preventing and controlling infection, the CQC report praised the home for measures in place stating ’The service was operating in line with best practice’. The report also went on to praise the home for ensuring ‘people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care’.

In addition, the report from CQC noted that from the inspection they felt assured that medicines were safely managed, that electronic care records set out resident’s needs and preferences and that residents had said that ‘they were happy with the care and support they received, and they felt safe at the service’.

Jewish Care is extremely proud of all the staff and volunteers at Kun Mor and George Kiss along with the specialist Managers and all the other teams that support the home including HR and their Learning and Development team, Rabbi Junik, Health and Safety and many of our other support teams and functions.
