Biggest ever at Jewish Care’s Fun Day20 Jun 2016
The PAH Family Fun Day saw a record number of 1600 visitors enjoying a great family fun day out on Sunday 20 June at Princess Alexandra Home.
The day, organised by The Princess Alexandra Home Special Events Committee raised nearly £20,000 this year to help enhance the lives of residents.
Families, Jewish Care supporters and people from the local community tucked into a barbeque and were entertained by dance troupes and school choirs. Children had a great choice of activities to choose from including bouncy castles, fun fair rides, laser quest, cake decorating and face painting.
Speaking after the event, Chair of the Princess Alexandra Home Special Events Committee Brian Eisenberg said,
“I’m delighted to have raised nearly £20,000 this year. The Fun Day has raised more than £140,000 to date and we were delighted to see even more people from the local community enjoy themselves.
“The day was such a huge success thanks to the hard work of the dedicated committee, the Hebrew Order of David, the volunteers, other organisations, and of course all the people who came along on the day to have fun and support the charity and residents of Jewish Care’s Princess Alexandra Home.
“The staff really look after the residents’ needs in such a positive, respectful way. With the support of the home manager, Elizabeth Mandeya, and her wonderful staff team, the residents also enjoyed taking part in a fantastic intergenerational day.
“The money raised will help pay for transport so that residents can go on a weekly visit to local shops with a carer and also help fund a therapeutic arts and music programme so they can continue to take part in a whole range of meaningful activities to enrich their lives.”
Commenting after the event Daniel Carmel-Brown, Director Fundraising and Marketing at Jewish Care said;
“This was another wonderful fun day and all ages came together to raise much needed funds to support the home. I would like to thank the committee, the staff at Princess Alexandra Home and all the volunteers for their continued hard work and commitment which has made the day such a success.”
