It’s such a pleasure and privilege to come in to be here tonight. This is our community at our very best. Regardless of denomination, beliefs or broigus’,” he joked, “whatever your level of commitment or connection to Judaism, it’s irrelevant the moment that you need it, when it is the most difficult time for you and your family, or for you if you don’t have family, the silent and profound touch of the Jewish community is always there through Jewish Care.”
After the evening, Cyril Marks, Chair of Lady Sarah Cohen’s Fundraising Committee, said, “I’d like to thank Judge Rinder for his kind words and for coming to speak to us tonight. I’d like to thank the fantastic committee, several of whom are also volunteers at the home, like Rosa Begon, who worked so hard to make this evening a success. With the generous support of our guests we are delighted to have raised funds for Jewish Care’s Lady Sarah Cohen House, where the staff do such a wonderful job and we hope this will help to enhance the activities in the home ensuring that the residents live meaningful lives.”
