Jewish Care announces new Chief Executive

26 Mar 2018

The trustees of Jewish Care are delighted to announce, that following a robust recruitment process, Daniel Carmel-Brown has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Jewish Care.

 He will take up the appointment on 1 July 2018 in succession to Simon Morris who announced last December his decision to step down after 15 successful years as Chief Executive.

 Currently the Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Jewish Care, Daniel Carmel-Brown has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility at Jewish Care having begun his career over two decades ago delivering front line services.

 Daniel Carmel-Brown commented;

“I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed Chief Executive of Jewish Care. I have been privileged to have worked closely with the existing Chief Executive, who I believe has achieved so much in his time and laid the foundations for an exciting new chapter in the long history of Jewish Care. I look forward to working with the President, Honorary President’s, Chairman, Board of Trustees, and the thousands of dedicated colleagues, volunteers and supporters of this exceptional organisation to ensure we can continue to meet the growing and changing social care needs of the community”.

 Steven Lewis, Jewish Care Chair commented;

“Over the last three months we have undertaken a rigorous recruitment process. We interviewed a total of nine candidates both from within and outside of the organisation and the community. The interview panel were unanimous in their decision. Daniel Carmel-Brown has shown he has the experience, determination and vision to take on this role and address the significant challenges that come with leading a social care charity in 2018. I am looking forward to both supporting and challenging him to ensure Jewish Care strives to deliver the very best it can for the community.”

 Lord Levy, President of Jewish Care commented;

I have worked closely with Daniel over the last decade. He is a natural leader, a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator and has a solid grasp and understanding of the organisation and the current challenges. I am thrilled that the Trustees of Jewish Care have appointed him to be the next Chief Executive of Jewish Care and have every confidence he will build on the strong foundations that his predecessor Simon Morris has worked so hard to achieve.”
