Over 100 golfers took the course at Abridge Golf and Country Club for the 44th Annual RAGS (Redbridge Aid Golf Society) golf tournament.

The tournament organised by both the RAGS committee and the Redbridge Sports and Entertainment Fundraising committee raises much needed funds for local Jewish charities in the Redbridge area. A cheque for £150,000 was presented to Jewish Care to support their work in the local area, the Community Security Trust were presented with £10,000 and £5,000 was donated to the Doris and Sidney Gold Trust. The £160,000 awarded were the joint proceeds from the golf tournament and a recent breakfast event with Paul Merson held at the Prince Regent Hotel.

Commenting after the event, committee member and Jewish Care Trustee, Andrew Klein said;

"RAGS and the Redbridge Sports committee continue to work together to raise much needed funds for Jewish Care. We were delighted to be able to hand over a total of £160,000 to support services for the local Jewish community."

Daniel Carmel-Brown, Director Fundraising and Marketing, Jewish Care commented;

"The RAGS committee is one of Jewish Care’s oldest fundraising committee plying a pivotal role in local fundraising efforts. We are grateful to the committee, players and sponsors all of whom made this another extremely successful event.
