Jewish Care recruitment campaign wins two Gold Awards

08 May 2018

Jewish Care's new recruitment campaign ‘Do you Wish; has been awarded two gold awards at the Employer Brand Management Awards.

Jewish Care worked alongside agency We Love 9am to develop the campaign which won first place for ‘Best Employer Brand Management Innovation’ and ‘Best Employer Brand Management in Charity Sector’.

In common with all social care providers, recruiting good quality staff is both a challenge and a priority for Jewish Care. The number of adult social care jobs has increased by 19% since 2009. There are an estimated 90,000 adult social care vacancies in the UK at any given time and early indications are this figure is increasing due to the impact of Brexit.

Jewish Care worked with We Love 9am to develop a brand campaign that would position them as an attractive employer and address the preconceptions that religion would affect their job application. In its first six months the campaign has dramatically changed these preconceptions, improving response rates to job adverts, reducing recruitment costs and vacant posts have reduced from 10% to 5%.

The judges thought Jewish Care were ‘courageous to confront reality and create a bold solution’. One judge commented that it was ‘great to see a business pivoting on what’s not working’.

Alexandra Myers, Head of Recruitment and Development, Jewish Care commented ‘It is always good to win awards and have our hard work recognized. However, for us the real success of this campaign is the impact it is already having on our recruitment. Our work is reliant on the quality of our workforce. We will continue to invest in recruitment and develop innovative ways to ensure we stand out so we can recruit the best in sector”.
