Jack Gardner House provides a friendly and safe environment for Jewish adults living with mental health needs (aged 18+). Based in Golders Green, it has a strong sense of community, both within the home and locally.

Care and support available is for people who are finding it difficult to cope in the community. Residents choose to live there for different reasons. They may need ongoing support, or some time to recuperate with rehabilitative care at a difficult time in their life.

Residents can develop their daily living skills, make their own decisions, and remain independent. They live in a safe, Jewish environment, with staff on-hand when needed.

There are 15 bedrooms across two floors. All residents have their own room with access to Wi-Fi. They make their own breakfast and supper in a communal kitchen, while chefs prepare a daily lunch.

The home’s ethos is to empower and enable people to recover. To help people live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling to them. They take a holistic approach, supporting residents to meet their emotional, physical, social, spiritual and cultural needs.

Jack Gardner House works in partnership with Jami and other health and social care services. Together they provide the best possible advice and support for residents. The staff have a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health needs. They also provide telephone support for people who live independently in the community.

Support with tasty, nutritious meals every day.

Residents make their own breakfast and supper, while chefs prepare a daily lunch. This means residents eat the meals they want, while maintaining or developing their cooking skills. The staff offer support to residents with cooking and meal planning, to help take the stress away and develop those skills. Residents can also cook completely independently if they wish to.

Jack Gardner House provides all the ingredients and cooking facilities for residents’ meals. The home uses fully kosher certified food products and suppliers (not supervised).

We place traditional Jewish values at the heart of all we do at Jewish Care. That’s why we ensure that all the food in our care homes is tasty, nutritious and kosher (or kosher-style). All our services use kosher ingredients and recipes, and our staff are trained in preparing food in a kosher way. Please contact us to find out more about this.

Lunches at Jack Gardner House

The team of skilled chefs plan and prepare a varied menu of meals each week. They meet with residents and relatives to ensure that they cater to every palette.

Lunchtimes are social times, where residents enjoy tasty kosher-style meals together. Traditional foods help residents remember and mark key moments in the Jewish calendar; challah on Shabbat, doughnuts for Chanukah, honey cake for Rosh Hashanah and hamantaschen for Purim. These are all part of what makes Jewish life so important in our homes.

Make your visit a day to remember with some great things to do and see in the area.
